IPS Empress Esthetic
The IPS Empress pressed ceramic system, which has been clinically proven for more than 15 years satisfies discerning users and patients all over the world. Twenty-five million placed restorations are testimony to the long-standing success of IPS Empress.

Manufactured by Ivoclar Vivadent, IPS Empress Esthetic features a more homogeneous microstructure. The eucite crystals are more evenly distributed, thus increasing the density and offering you the doctor a metal-free alternative.

The new IPS Empress Esthetic Line offers heightened aesthetics, enhanced properties and cost effectiveness for the Staining Technique and partially layered veneers in our laboratory.

Features and Benefits:
-Excellent translucency with cut-back and internal staining and layering techniques
-Excellent fit
-Low abrasive wear
-High tensile strength
Recommended Applications:
-Single unit crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays
Contraindications:
-Regular pressed empress may be too opaque
-Bruxism
-Dark stumps of any kind
Shading:
-Vita Classic by Vident or Chromascope shades.

Prep Requirements:
-1.5mm at the gingival third, 1.5 to 2.0mm at the incisal or occlusal utilizing a circular chamfer or shoulder.
-No sharp edges
Cementation:
-Any adhesive bonding agent with low expansion light cured resin cement.
-Some have found success with the newer self-adhesive universal resin cements
Dr. Rob's Tips and Tricks:
-I have been using relyx unicem cement with great success. Make sure the lab etches the inside of the crown to increase bonding.
-To prevent opaque show through, make prep reduction even.
-Used for basic all porcelain restorations when pressed only
-Used for upgrades when I order the "Intrinsic Design"
IPS Eris:
Ivoclar Vivadent, metal-free restorations afford clinicians the opportunity to confidently place simple, cosmetic alternatives that demonstrate exceptional strength, aesthetics, color stability, and biocompatibility, even in the posterior region. And, what's more, in those cases in which isolation of subgingival margins and the predictability of a dry field are compromised, the IPS Eris restoration can be cemented with traditional Type I glass ionomer cement, without compromising the overall strength and aesthetics of the final restorations.

IPS Eris is a layering ceramic placed over the lithium disilicate framework of restorations and is a complementary part of the entire IPS Empress family of products. Indicated for anterior and posterior full-coverage crowns and 3-unit bridges, the IPS Eris layering material interacts with light in much the same way as natural teeth. As a result, IPS Eris restorations exhibit exceptional translucency, brightness, and light-scattering ability for a beautiful cosmetic result.

Features and Benefits:
-Excellent aesthetics
-Increased strength with pressed coping
-May be cemented with traditional resin cements
Recommended Applications:
-Single unit crowns and three unit bridges
Contraindications:
-Posterior bridges not recommended
-Not to exceed 3 unit bridges
Shading:
- Vita Classic by Vident or Chromascop shades
Prep Requirements:
-1.5mm at the gingival third, 1.5 to 2.0mm at the incisal or occlusal utilizing a circular chamfer or shoulder.
-No sharp edges
Cementation:
-Glass ionomer, dual cure resin bonding cement
- Self-adhesive universal resin cements
Dr. Rob's Tips and Tricks:
-I have done four unit bridges in the posterior on selective patients where connectors could be increased and patient showed no signs of bruxism
-Used for upgrades when I order the "Intrinsic Design"

Nobel Biocare Procera® is a system developed for manufacturing of individualized dental restorations. Utilizing the latest scanning, CAD/CAM and manufacturing technologies, high accuracy and a perfect precision of fit is ensured. Cercon® Zirconia restorations can be placed with conventional cementation or adhesive bonding techniques. More than 120 labs in North America offer Cercon® Zirconia restorations and over 1,000,000 units have been placed worldwide since its introduction in May of 2002.

Dr. Rob's Tips and Tricks:

Diagnostic Wax-ups
The Diagnostic Wax-Up is an important tactical tool to augment the successful outcome to anterior and full-mouth cases. We recommend the LVI smile catelog to help patients determine the smile that best fits their facial contours and desires. After the wax-up is complete, and the patient is satisfied with the look, an impression is taken for the fabrication of the patients temporary restorations that will mimic the look of the diagnostic wax-up.
Features and Benefits:
-Creates a matrix for fabrication of ideal temporaries
-Allows the patient to visualize the final result
-Causes the patient to be included in the look of their restorations.
Laboratory Fabricated Temporaries
These temporaries offer the patient beautiful aesthetics, are extremely strong, and are ideal for extended wear.
Cementation:
-Use non-eugenol temporary cements to avoid problems with bonding of final restorations to prepared dentition.
